Week 3: By the Sea or Long Island Sound

I went to Hammonasset Beach today to take these pictures. It was 41 degrees and very windy. I had to run after my hat several times.
It was hard for me to choose the best the best two pictures, as I liked many of them. I played with the effects on Picasa but decided to leave the color and add a little contrast. Visit me at http://www.fotothing.com/mod2deb/ for more of beach photos.

  1. Thats where I went for mine. Nice work. it was VERY cold and windy. How big is the thing in the second picture? thats a pretty awesome shot. It looks really big. I like the shells picture as well. That came out awesome

  2. The weather has been rough in the past 24 hrs!

What I like about the first image is the sharpness on the foreground shells and the close proximity... the low perspective of the driftwood helps make it seem monumental.

    Nicely done!
